All who attended were floored by the grandeur and authenticity of the décor.

No detail was forgotten as the hotel welcomed its guests to Saris, Samosas, Sips & Saal Mubarak, the first Diwali celebration thrown by the hotel. Guests were greeted by an adorned statue of Ganesh, the remover of obstacles and the god of beginnings. His presence then lead guests to a ballroom fit for a grand celebration of the Hindu New Year.

Over 150 people, dressed in their finest, celebrated the evening and welcomed Kaduru to the Atlanta community. Kaduru and his team treated guests to various cuisine from around India with South Indian, street food (chaat), Tandoori, and Gujarati food tents that brought the flavors of home to Peachtree Street.

“I really enjoyed preparing the food and helping host the event for the local community,” said Kaduru, who got his start with the high-end hotel chain in Naples, Florida. “Diwali is one of my favorite times of the year and to celebrate with such a large group was really special.” Before coming to Atlanta, he was the executive chef of The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove in Miami, Florida.

The audience saw a performance by Georgia Tech’s Bhangra team before the dance floor opened to the attendees who partied the night away. It was truly an evening to remember and a festive celebration to bring in the New Year.

“This was our first Diwali celebration and we were honored to bring the community together to celebrate, experience our hotel, and introduce Chef Ramesh to Atlanta,” said Manuel Deisen, general manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta.
