Telugu association donates scholarships for needy students
The Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) held a scholarship ceremony on Sep 9, 2012 at FAPCCI (Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry) to encourage needy students. TAMA gave 47 Scholarships to 23 Districts of Andhra Pradesh. For two scholarships to each district of Andhra Pradesh, TAMA chose one boy and one girl from each district who topped the district in Merit among Government Schools.
Guests at the event were Nallamilli Sesha Reddy, M.L.A from East Godavari; N. Shiv Shankar, Commissioner and Director of School Education; actor and real estate magnate Murali Mohan; Gazal Srinivas; Dr. Papolu Rama Devi, India Coordinator for TAMA Scholarship 2012; and Raghuram Chiru, Retired Joint Secretary for Intermediate Board.
Seetha Vallurupalli, TAMA Chairman, initiated and executed the Scholarship Project. Members of the Executive Committee Venkat Meesala, event coordiantor, and Secretary of Board Meher Lanka joined the Ceremony. The scholarship event was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Hyderabad Midtown.
