TAMA Free Clinic 5K Walk
Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta (TAMA) organized the Free Clinic 5K Walk at Newtown Park, Johns Creek. With over ten years of operation, TAMA’s weekly free clinic has benefited nearly 10,000 people with little or no insurance—visiting parents, students, and many others. TAMA Free Clinic has been running with the tireless efforts of around 25 doctors, more than 50 certified volunteers, and 50 youth volunteers.
First, Chairman Subbarao Maddali invited all the doctors on stage. They said that it gives them immense satisfaction to serve at the TAMA clinic and congratulated TAMA for running it so steadily and efficiently for a long time. Clinic coordinator Nagesh Doddaka elaborated on the history and achievements of the clinic. President Sairam Karumanchi called the donors onto the stage, praised their philanthropic attitude, and thanked them for their enormous help. Special guests Johns Creek City Council members Stacey Skinner and Bob Erramilli thanked TAMA for holding such a fabulous program in their city and appreciated the services provided by TAMA Free Clinic. Sponsors, doctors, and guests were duly felicitated by TAMA.
TAMA organized a successful 5K Walk to spread awareness about its free clinics.
The 5K Walk started around 8:45 a.m. More than 400 adults, children, youth, and seniors enthusiastically participated in TAMA Free Clinic’s annual 5K Walk. The fun started with the Zumba dance which was held as part of the warm-up.
TAMA past presidents, chairmen, members, and supporters presented trophies to winners in the children, adult, senior, and women categories. Gift cards were also given to the winners among the youth and children who attended in large numbers. Idli, pongal, vada, tea, coffee, water, and bananas were given to all attendees.
