Sewa International USA’s 18th Annual Holi Festival of Colors Draws Thousands

Sewa Atlanta hosted its 18th annual Holi at the Cumming Fairgrounds, bringing together thousands of people in a vibrant celebration of unity, joy, and cultural heritage. This grand event, filled with music, dance, and festivities, reaffirmed Holi as not just as a cultural festival but a powerful expression of community and togetherness.
Attendees immersed themselves in the colorful spirit of Holi while enjoying music reflecting the joyous nature of the festival, dance performances, and a variety of delicious food. Sewa Holi continues to be an event that strengthens the community while promoting charity and service.

Honored dignitaries in attendance were welcomed and introduced by our advisor and supporter, Samir Bhatia. The dignitaries shared their thoughts on the significance of Holi and the impact of the event:
Congressman Dr. Rich McCormick praised Sewa International’s commitment to humanitarian efforts locally and globally, highlighting their embodiment of the best of human nature through selfless service. He expressed his joy in celebrating Holi with thousands, acknowledging the significance of the Indian diaspora and the spirit of the occasion.

Consul General of India in Atlanta, Ramesh Babu Lakshmanan, praised Sewa International for organizing the largest Holi celebration in the U.S., commending their dedication to selfless service and community upliftment through initiatives in disaster relief, education, healthcare, and community development.
Deputy Consul General Sreejan Shandilya highlighted the festival’s contribution to promoting diversity and commended it for its role in fostering cultural understanding and unity within the community.
Dr. Madhav Durbha, President of Sewa International’s Atlanta chapter, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming community support, emphasizing that it is a testament to the joyous spirit of the Holi festival and the positive impact Sewa International has on Atlanta and beyond. He recognized all our donors, volunteers, and sponsors and thanked them for their patronage.

Appreciation was also expressed for the support from Forsyth County Commissioners Office, Cumming Fairgrounds staff, and Cumming Police Department by the Atlanta chapter’s Vice-President, Raj Radhakrishnan, who shared similar views.
As a green event, Sewa Holi encouraged sustainable practices urging attendees to bring their water bottles. With free entry and free parking, the festival remained accessible to all, ensuring a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
