SBSM organizes its annual recital
On March 26, 2023, Sangeet Bitan School of Music (SBSM), a renowned music school located in the greater Atlanta area, held its annual recital at Midway Park Community Building on Post Road in Cumming, GA.

The program was meticulously organized by the students of SBSM under the expert guidance of Rikhia Saha, an accomplished musician, teacher, and founder of the school. Thirty-six students, ranging in age from six to 60, participated in the recital as they performed a variety of musical numbers in multiple genres and languages.

The evening began with a small pooja and a group song, "Hey Sharde Ma," invoking the blessings of Maa Saraswati. Saha extended a warm welcome to the guests; and her student, Pratosh Jhari, emceed the program with fervor and enthusiasm. The youngest students atthe school performed two group songs, "Itni Si Hassi" and "7 Notes song " winning everyone's hearts. Uplifting and devotional songs, such as "Achutam Keshavam," "Srirama Chandra Kripalu," “Humko Mann Ki Shakti Dena," and “Tum Hi Ho Mata” were sung with jubilation by the students. The group song, "Kadam Kadam Badhaya Ja," performed by the students, brought out their patriotic feelings.

Bengali songs, "Phule Phule" and "Ekla Cholo," performed by the students, and Nazrul Geeti by Soheliwho had traveled all the way from Charlotte to perform, captivated the audience. Anushka, Arita (on clarinet), and Zoyee entertained the audience with their high-octave English numbers. A foot-tapping number, "Neele Neele Amber," by the emcee, PratoshJhari, was a treat for the audience.
Old melodies, such as "Piya Tose Naina Laga Re" by Prisha, “Ja Re Ud Ja Re Panchi" by Nishta, and "Mausam Ke Sargam" by Sheeba and Meenal, were soulfully rendered. "Kuhu Kuhu Koyalia" by Anushka and Saha, the founder, left the audience mesmerized. The program concluded with an inspirational number, "We Shall Overcome," by all the students of SBSM, followed by a felicitation ceremony and a vote of thanks by Saha.
All in all, it was a very enjoyable evening. The program was a huge success and was well received by the audience.
