Purbasha celebrates its 4th annual Saraswati Puja
Purbasha celebrated its 4th Saraswati Puja at Meadowcreek High School, Norcross on 9th February 2014. Around 100 people gathered to celebrate, some Purbasha members arriving at 11 am to start the puja preparation and decoration. Puja began at 11:30 am and was followed by pushpanjali and haate khori ("chalk in hand," the ritual of first writing before beginning school). Prasad distribution and lunch were served from 1 to 2 pm.
The most-awaited cultural events program started after lunch with a drawing competition followed by kids' go-as-you-like, and music and dance performances by Purbasha members and their kids. The event was ended around 6 pm with bisarjon (literally, immersion) and prize distribution ceremony.
