Narender Reddy Attends GOP Convention in New York
GOP activist Narender Reddy attended the Republican National Convention held in New York from August 30th to September 2nd. "As a delegate I felt honored to represent the State of Georgia and especially our Indian-American community," he said. "I had the opportunity to meet with several top leaders and also with grassroots workers of the party. It was an experience of a lifetime to see democracy at work."
During his meetings with Republican Party leaders from other states, Reddy emphasized the need to create outreach programs in their states to recruit Indian-Americans. He also urged them to include Asians in their diversity programs. Earlier, he asked the platform committee to include educational reforms that would make college education affordable to everyone, and to choose strategic partnership countries ? especially in Asia ? based on the long-term rather than short-term needs of the U.S.
Reddy is one of the ?Pioneers' who have raised more than $100,000 for the Bush-Cheney campaign. He attended a reception held for them at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York. "I had the opportunity to chat with both, former President Bush and Barbara Bush."
