Miss India-Georgia Gayatri Patel Wins Three Crowns
Gayatri Patel, winner of IACA?s Miss India-Georgia 2002, won laurels at the 2002 Miss India-USA National Beauty Pageant held in Los Angeles on Aug 31. After winning IACA?s contest on July 27, Ms. Patel won three crowns at the national level: Miss India-USA 1st Runner Up, Miss Best Talent, and Miss Best Smile.
The national competition had thirty participants, with four representing Georgia. Accompanying Ms. Patel were Miss India-Georgia 2002 1st Runner-Up Gagan Grover, Miss India-Georgia 2001 Vinita Thaper, and Miss India-Georgia 2001 1st Runner-Up Rohini Jain. Three of Georgia?s four representatives advanced to the final round: Ms. Patel, Ms. Jain, and Ms. Thaper. Ms. Patel and Ms. Jain were among the five finalists.
The participants from Georgia attributed their success to the confidence and poise they gained at the IACA?s contest. Never in the history of the national competition had there been such a strong contingent from one state as there was from Georgia. Congratulations to all four of Georgia?s representatives!
