Indian Honored with Image Award 2006
A FOX Theatre Gala event
Impression Management, recently renamed Image Liberation Organization (ILO), unveiled the new face of their management at the Fabulous FOX Theatre on April 15th. The banquet honored several individuals who have helped bring comfort to those infected/affected by HIV/AIDS. Paul Geiger, President of ILO, gave the welcome address and spoke about the purpose of their company, which is to help individuals hone in on their interviewing skills, presentation abilities and their image. In addition he stated the importance of getting involved with UNICEF to help fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS by volunteering or raising funds.
The Image Awards were given to several individuals including Miss Universe Natalie Glebova and Lata Chawla from ESPN. The celebrations began with dance presentations from India, China, Japan, Spain, Brazil and Puerto Rico, to honor each recipient's homeland.
"If you can make it at ESPN, you can make it anywhere", said Parker Geiger about Lata Chawla. Ms.Chawla was given the Image Award by Miss Universe Natalie Glebova. After working at ITT Hartford Insurance Group, Ms.Chawla joined the ESPN/ABC network as the Director of Training and Organizational Development. She was honored not only for her contribution to ESPN but also for founding and co-sponsoring two orphanages in India.
The evening concluded with more cultural programs followed by closing remarks from the President of ILO. UNICEF promoted their upcoming event titled "Designs of Hope" which would raise funds to provide care and support for children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.
