Robotics Team breaks boundaries at Fashion & Tech Extravaganza
In a captivating showcase of engineering and creativity, the Strem HQ Tech Academy’s Arcturus Robotics team took center stage at the 3rd Annual Joy to the World Winter Fashion Extravaganza, organized by Glamour Star models and talent. This event brilliantly merged the worlds of fashion and technology with a groundbreaking theme, highlighting the ingenuity of the Arcturus Robotics team—a group of talented middle and high school students from Metro Atlanta, all part of the Strem HQ Tech Academy. As participants in the FIRST®️ Tech Challenge (FTC), these young engineers demonstrated their remarkable skills in a bold, fashion-forward setting.

Aged between 12 and 16, the team members have already earned regional and state championships, showcasing their engineering expertise. At the fashion extravaganza, two robots adorned with stylish hats, scarves, and accessories represented male and female models on the runway, offering a unique technological twist to the glamorous event. These engineering marvels entranced the audience, while models as young as four added their own charm to the show. Additionally, the team designed and 3D-printed the event’s trophies, presented to the budding stars by the robots themselves—an unforgettable experience that left the two-hundred-plus attendees in awe and inspired many to envision a future in robotics and engineering.

The Arcturus Robotics team’s problem-solving abilities were on full display during the event, as they quickly tackled any challenges. Their rapid, efficient troubleshooting skills ensured that the show ran seamlessly, whether it was rapid motor changing as fast as the NASCAR pit crew or quickly solving issues with static. This showcased the team’s exceptional engineering talent, proving that through teamwork and ingenuity, no obstacle is too great.

The event also featured collections from designers such as Adriana Westwood, Renea Singleton, Chloe Zhang of Mocorii, Clay Model Academy, and the Dillard’s Holiday Collection. Models of all ages, shapes, sizes, and backgrounds graced the runway, celebrating diversity and inclusivity. The Arcturus Robotics team added an inspiring layer to the event, walking alongside fashion models and proving that technology and creativity go hand-in-hand.
Barkha Suri, founder and CEO of Strem HQ, eloquently captured the essence of this fusion: “Who would have thought robotics and fashion would be seen together on stage? However, they are not as different as they appear. They are both creative, both involve designing something new, both create prototypes, and both bring beautiful products to life.”
