Greater Atlanta Vedic Temple Lilburn organizes Mahayajna
On May 1, the Greater Atlanta Vedic Temple at Lilburn celebrated its annual flagship event, the Mahayajna, with Vedic chants in the serene atmosphere of the temple premises.
Mahayajna was performed invoking the Vedic practices at Greater Atlanta Vedic Temple at Lilburn.
This year’s Mahayajna was based on Yajurveda, with chants to invoke unity, purity, and peace. The purifying and fragrant herbs offered to the holy fires did indeed sanctify the atmosphere, invoking the ancient Vedic practices of maintaining the environment for all living beings. The Mahayajna was officiated by Acharya Hariprasadji who kept the audience’s attention by expounding the mantras in a way relevant to today’s times.
The function was graced by Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat who was the chief guest for the occasion. He was presented a book by Dr. Chandora, a noted philanthropist.
The event was a grand success and a reminder to humanity of the interconnectedness of all beings, and of man’s sacred duty to all of God’s creations.
