GATeS celebrates Bathukamma and Dasara Sambaralu

Greater Atlanta Telangana Society (GATeS) celebrated the Bathukamma and Dasara Sambaralu on October 2, 2022 at DeSana Middle School in Atlanta. GATeS has been celebrating Bathukamma, a floral festival celebrated predominantly in Telangana, for the last 17 years in Atlanta.

The festival started with lighting of the lamp by EC, BOD, Founding Members, Past Chairmen, and Presidents along with their families. The GATeS team, supported by Naveen Battini, the Cultural Secretary, worked diligently with local artists to prepare Bathukamma. The folk songs focused on bringing out the true importance of Bathukamma festival and the bounty of Telangana’s nature. The emcee, Lavanya Guduru, who is also a Mana TV Anchor, started the celebrations. AT_8_11_22.jpgAfter folk singer Mallika, KT Sravanthi performed.
