Fun for Telugu light/film music and literary enthusiasts

Amrutha Varshini celebrated its annual event on Saturday March 2nd at Berkmar High School. Festivities began at 4pm and continued late into the night. The highlight was a creative and fun-filled anthyakshari coordinated by Venkat Chennubhotla, Phani Dokka, Hari Pothukuchi, and Sneha Chaturvedula.
The keenly contested competition had 15 teams and ran into more than 20 rounds with classic film songs, rich in melody, performed by adults and children. After grueling finals which saw fortunes fluctuate for many teams, winners were announced with great fanfare:
First Place: Vinod Gandikota, Uma Jamshed, Suneetha Medarametla, Sushma Wupendram, Rajkamal Kosaraju.
Runners up: Bala Indurti, Madhavi Indurti, Pratima Nallagatla, Sailaja Gella, Swami Vavilikolanu.
Third Place: Maithreyi Gangaraju, Ram Gangaraju, Syamala Bhagavathula, Sravani, Bhanuchandra.
Judges: Rav Kandimalla, Srini Vangimalla, Uma Vempati, Vijay Gandhapodi.
NATA leaders Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy, Bala Indurti, and others spoke about the NATA 2014 convention to be held in Atlanta on July 4-6, 2014, and announced key NATA positions.
Sponsorship from North American Telugu Association (NATA), Kiran Pashyam, TANA, and Anand Garlapati provided free admission. Food came from Hot Breads and live telecast on Yupp TV from Sridhar Vakiti.
