"Club4All" a relatively new social forum in the metro Atlanta Indian community which has already established a growing patronage, celebrated Holi on Sunday May 1, 2005 at the Briscoe Park in Snellville, Georgia. It was evident that the organizers had spent a lot of time crafting a day that would entertain children, teenagers, youngsters and adults.
The program included games like spoon-and-lemon race, three-legged race, volleyball, sack race, tug-of-war and many more. Most of the attendees said that the games brought back nostalgic memories and took them back to their school and college days. They appreciated the opportunity to introduce their children to games and festivities of India and share their memories with them.
The level of participation from kids as well as adults was very impressive. All the games were played several times with excitement by every age group. The grand finale event (tug-of-war) was held between men-group and women-group. Naturally, it generated a lot of excitement around. A huge crowd of curious park-goers gathered to watch all the fun. They could not resist taking sides and cheering at the participants. Some of them even joined and participated in some of the events.
A delicious lunch was served followed by Gulal and Rang. The afternoon was marked with social mingling and snacks like samosas, jalebi, chai and Thandai.
