Couple Bag 18 Medals At Senior Olympics
Ashakali and Shirley Premji won a combined 18 medals at the recently held Gwinnett Senior Golden Olympics.
Ashakali Premji won a total of 13 medals including a gold in doubles table tennis; silvers in singles table tennis, billiards, darts, half-mile walk, mixed-doubles tennis and singles tennis; and bronzes in bowling doubles, tennis doubles, cycling, holey board, Rummikub and foot-ball throw.
Premji beat his own bounty of seven medals at last year's Golden Olympics. A winner of the Best Senior Athlete Sportsmanship Award at last year's Inter Regional Sports Tournament held in Atlanta, Premji also won four medals at the Southeast Senior Games in Florida, two medals in the Inter-Regional Sports Tournament in Dallas, and two medals at the Georgia Games.
Shirely Premji won five medals at this year's Golden Olympics. A gold in holey board; silver in darts; bronze in shuffleboard, Rummikub and half-mile walk.
