This year Chinmaya Mission Atlanta’s Niketan Bala Vihar end of the year program was a memorable event. Unlike each year, where the classes present their own program, this time all the classes came together for one show. It was a grand celebration dedicated to our Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananandaji.
Almost all the Bala Vihar children and parents participated with much enthusiasm and learned a lot along the way about Gurudev’s life story. There were coordinated dances, selected scenes from Pujya Gurudev’s life time, bhajans, and more. A total of 55 students and 17 scenes were ready within three weeks. Each and every Bala Vihaar student, even the ones who came forth at the last moment was placed in the show. The dances were choreographed to perfection to the songs “Vande Mataram” and “Gurudev.” The costumes were well suited for each scene along with the props. Additionally, the direction was amazing.
This production was named, “Unto Him Our Best”, in honor of Gurudev’s Birth Centenary. All children and parents who participated came together and placed a tremendous effort with love for Gurudev. The final scene was that of Gurudev enjoying a bhajan with Bala Vihar children and addressing them. This effort definitely brought us all close together as a Chinmaya family and we look forward to many such projects in future. After the program, almost each child and parent received an award for excellence, attendance, participation in competitions, and volunteering efforts. It seemed as though all of the audience was now on the stage receiving their gifts or awards. We were very fortunate to receive gifts and blessings from our Acharya, Dr. G.V. Raghuji. The grand finale ended with a grand meal and best wishes to all until next time.
