Celestial Dance Ballet for a Good Cause
The International Association for Human Values (IAHV) and the Art of Living Foundation are presenting the Celestial Dance Ballet U.S. this summer to raise awareness and funds for the 5H program, IAHV's international service project. The Celestial Dance Ballet, a colorful performance integrating ancient mythology with multiple styles of Indian classical dance, will be performed in nine U.S. cities, including Atlanta. The 5H program, started in 1998, takes a holistic approach to making social change that lasts. By addressing issues related to health, hygiene, homes, human values and harmony in diversity, it provides a framework for education and support, thus lifting individuals out of poverty.
The Celestial Dance Ballet, choreographed by Rashme Hegde Gopi, features two separate dances: Sahasrara, the cosmic ballet of the awakening of the Kundalini Shakti (individual spiritual energy) to its full potential; and Amritamanthanam, a rendition of Lord Shiva presiding over the war of immortality between the gods and the demons. This award-winning ballet has won accolades in India and many other countries around the world for its unique and highly innovative theme. The performance in Atlanta will be at the Gwinnett Civic Center on July 27th. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.5h.org.
