Dr. Sreeni Gangasani has been elected to serve as the chairman of the Georgia Composite Medical Board. He is only the second international medical graduate to serve in this capacity in over 100 years of the board’s existence. He was also recently elected to be the chair of the board of trustees of the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Heritage (GAPI) for 2024-25. Dr. Gangasani has been a practicing cardiologist in Lawrenceville, Georgia, for over 20 years. Director of the GAPI Volunteer Clinic, he is the founding partner of the Cardiovascular Group based in metro Atlanta. A graduate of the Physicians Leadership Academy, he has been past president of GAPI, on the past board of trustees, and vice chair of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI). He has also been past chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Northside Gwinnett Hospital.
