Nabilah Parkes
She advanced to the Democratic runoff for lieutenant governor after leading the primary field. She currently represents District 7 in the Georgia State Senate and made history in 2022 as the first Muslim woman and the youngest woman elected to the Georgia Senate. She previously worked on state and national political campaigns and holds a business degree from Georgia State University.
Rahul Garabadu
He advanced to the Democratic runoff for Georgia State Senate District 7 after finishing among the top candidates in a closely watched primary. A Harvard Law School graduate, Garabadu previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia and now practices law in Atlanta after earlier serving as a federal judicial law clerk.
Jyot Singh
He won the Democratic nomination for Georgia House District 97. An at- torney and community advocate, Singh has been active in civic engagement and public service in Gwinnett County. If elected, he would become the first Sikh elected official in Georgia’s history.
Saira Draper
She secured the Democratic nomination for Georgia State Senate District 44, positioning herself for another term in the Georgia Senate. Draper, an attorney, was first elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2022 before seeking a seat in the State Senate. She has focused her legislative work on consumer protection, education, and reproductive rights.
Akbar Ali
He won the Democratic nomination for Georgia House District 106 and is seeking reelection. First elected in 2022, Ali became the youngest member of the Georgia General Assembly. An entrepreneur and community leader from Gwinnett County, he has focused on education, economic development, and expanding opportunities for Georgians.
