Iceland, a British
supermarket chain,
recently launched a
“meal-for-one” frozen
dinner that may make
you cringe: Chicken
Tikka Yorkshire Pudding.
It’s described on
the package as “cooked,
diced chicken breast pieces in a
tikka masala sauce in a Yorkshire pudding.”
Yorkshire pudding, an English dish, is made from
eggs, flour, and milk, and traditionally served with
roast meat and gravy. Yorkshire pudding, also known as
batter pudding, is also used to make desserts.
Chicken tikka masala is extremely popular in Britain,
so it’s perhaps inevitable that it would find its way
into other dishes. After all, chicken tikka pizza is already
a favorite around the world, and it won’t be long before
we see products such as “Stouffer’s Chicken Tikka
Lasagna” and “Marie Callender’s Spaghetti with Chicken
Tikka Sauce.”
