Chitharesh Natesan, a Delhi-based
bodybuilder from Kerala, recently became
the first Indian to win the coveted Mr.
Universe title.
Natesan, 33, was crowned Mr.
Universe 2019 at the 11th World Bodybuilding
and Physique Sports Championship in
Jeju, South Korea.
A former hockey player, Natesan moved
to Delhi a decade ago from his hometown
of Kochi and worked as a fitness trainer. He
has focused on professional bodybuilding
since 2014 and trains
more than five hours
a day. He also follows
a daily diet that includes 40 egg whites and
one kilogram of chicken breast, as well as
fish, rice, and vegetables.
“No, I don’t get bored of the diet,” he
told The Hindu. “Bodybuilders need the right
amount of proteins, carbs, and fats. I take
about 300 grams of protein every day. There
are a lot of sacrifices involved when you
aim to reach the top.”
