Bhavana Kunnath, a high schooler from Lawrenceville, has been announced by NASA and Future Engineers as one of 155 semifinalists in the Artemis Moon Pod Essay Contest, a national competition that asked K-12 students to imagine leading a one-week expedition to the Moon’s South Pole.

Krish Wadhwani, a junior at Denmark High School in Forsyth County, has been selected as a Carson Scholar. Krish will receive a $1000 scholarship provided by the Carson Scholars Fund, a nonprofit founded by pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson and his wife, Candy.

A biomedical scientist and former Emory professor, Dr. Ravi Bellamkonda is set to join as Emory’s next provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. He’s returning to Emory after serving as dean of the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University for the past five years.

Nitheyaa Shree Ramesh is among the three Indian-American university students to be named 2021 Marshall Scholars by the British Government and Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission. As the only Marshall Scholar from Georgia, Ramesh, of Georgia State University, plans to do graduate studies at the University of Bristol.
