Across the globe, advances in technology change the way that businesses form and function. On September 14, Emory professor Dr. Holli Semetko will be opening her "India Today" class to the public for a lecture from Raj Jain, CEO of The Times Group, the largest media company in india. Jain will discuss the Group's strategy in a rapidly shifting industrial world, both in India and overseas.
One of India's leading businessmen, Raj Jain currently serves as chief executive officer of "The Times Group," which publishes the world's largest circulation English newspaper, the Times of India. Prior to "The Times Group," Jain was the president of Walmart India, and led the way for Walmart's successful entry into India. His long career in the business world also includes stints leading Whirpool Corporation in Shanghai and in several managerial positions at Unilever in India and the U.K.
Jain has served as chairman of the Board of American Chamber Commerece & Industry and the advisory board of the HOPE Foundation in India. He graduated from Delhi University with a degree in Engineering before earning an executive MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Business.
