Selection criteria & guidelines for submittingÂ
Khabar Magazine takes particular pride in featuring Community Newsmakers, a section that highlights recent, notable awards, achievements, and public recognitions earned by Indian Americans in and around the Atlanta area.
Criteria for Consideration
- The award, achievement, or recognition should be distinctive or one-of-a-kind.
- It must be of broader public significance. Honors limited to a small, private, or internal organization may not qualify.
- The recognition must be specific and recent. This section focuses on a particular occurrence, not on general excellence or lifetime achievement.
- Only awards or recognitions from the past two months are eligible.
- Media coverage alone does not qualify unless it pertains to a specific award, milestone, or landmark achievement.
Submission Requirements
- Submit details of the award or recognition, along with a brief bio of the honoree (maximum 200 words).
- Khabar reserves the right to edit all submissions to meet editorial standards and space requirements.
- Press or contact information for the awarding organization is helpful but not required.
- Please include a high-resolution headshot or a photo from the award ceremony.
