Mrs. Pintu Thaker, “Rock Star” high school teacher
Mrs. Pintu Thaker, a teacher at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Georgia received Georgia Business Education Association Teacher of the Year Award on July 16, 2014.
Mrs. Thaker gets students interested in technology careers through hands-on, real world experiences, and her students have excelled, winning many awards and commendations for professionalism. For example, her Team Flabbergastics won the Health IT Student Innovation Award with a mobile app GoGo Health with information to fight childhood obesity. Her Web Design and Accounting programs have been Gwinnett County’s most successful programs over the last nine years. She leads teams in a Global Virtual Classroom Contest involving three schools around the world—not an an easy task!
Mrs. Thaker is also FBLA State Advisor, providing career workshops, mock interviews, and programs such as Personal Finance, Success Skills, and Job Shadow. And she is always ready to help with community service projects—a kind and dedicated educator.
