Judge Jessy Lall is Georgia’s first South Asian female judge
Judge Jaslovelin "Jessy" Lall has been appointed as a permanent Magistrate Judge of Fulton County. She was given a reception at Morris Manning Martin by GAPABA, SABA-GA and the North Fulton Bar Association. Judge Lall is the first and only South Asian female judge in Georgia.
Celebrating with Judge Lall was the Honorable Justin Anand, Georgia's first South Asian and first federal judge, who serves as a U.S. Magistrate Judge (N.D. Ga).
Judge Lall shared her story of persistence in pursuing the bench, and thanked her supporters. She hope to inspire young lawyers to seek judicial office. Judge Lall worked for many years as a clerk, pulling in late nights to help clear her docket. She gradually moved up the ranks to become a part-time magistrate judge and now, a full member of the bench.
