Dr. Behruze Sethna receives Chancellor’s gold award
Dr. Behruze Sethna, President of the University of West Georgia, received the Gold Award for “The Chancellor’s Customer Service President and Institution of the Year” in a presentation ceremony on October 3, 2012.
This award is given to the institution that has shown the highest commitment, the highest performances and the most improvement in customer service across the University System of Georgia.
This past year, Dr. Sethna commissioned a committee of staff and faculty to improve customer service in the areas of student retention, progression, and graduation. While this is a charge that is statewide among University System of Georgia institutions, Dr. Sethna’s committee is taking a holistic approach that addresses a variety of student needs.
These customer service improvements include examining academic and environmental factors on campus, e.g. more food choices and places to dine, making sure that enough courses are available, advising and tutoring, and improvements in the Office of Printing and Publications.
Dr. Sethna has continually provided six-sigma training for his leadership team and has increased the team approach in helping students succeed and staff members shine.
