BAGA’s Saraswati Puja program by the kids

The Bengali Association of Greater Atlanta (BAGA) celebrated Saraswati Puja on February 9, 2019 at Shiloh High School.
BAGA is a nonprofit organization that strives to promote and sustain the rich culture of our Bengali heritage in American society and has been active for the past 38 years, through charitable, educational, and literary activities in the Southeastern United States.

Saraswati, the Goddess of Learning, was auspiciously invoked by our priest and was offered puja.
This was followed by anjali, offering prayer to the goddess by all devotees to the chants of Sanskrit slokas by the priest.

Then prasad as well as lunch was distributed. Soon after, the cultural festivities began! For the children, an art competition was held.
Young members of BAGA hosted a program with Bengali dance and song, and ended the night with the play “Jhala Pala.” All the performers and the emcees were children, and they did an amazing job.
