PIZZA PARADISE
The Domino’s Pizza delivery vehicle in India can be a curious sight to tourists, but a welcome one to the growing legion of pizza lovers. As long as their pizza is warm and tasty, they don’t care that it arrives on the back of a blue motorcycle, often driven by a young man who looks like he belongs in a motocross race.
The Domino’s Pizza motorcycles are helping the pizza chain sell an estimated 8 million pizzas each month through its 650 restaurants in India, so many that Domino’s CEO J. Patrick Doyle expects India to overtake Britain in pizza sales. “It is pretty clear that in the next few years, India will become the largest market outside the U.S.,” he told The Economic Times.
Domino’s has done a good job of adapting to the Indian market, offering pizza selections that include “spicy delight,” “peppy paneer” and “keema do pyaaza” – not to mention those speedy motorcycle deliveries. Now if only we could get the Domino’s restaurants in America to offer spicy delight pizza.
