The Atlanta Telugu community had the honor of hosting prominent actor, producer, philanthropist and legend Dr. Mohan Babu and his son, young hero actor and producer Mr. Vishnu Manchu at the Sai Murali Banquet Hall for a lunch event on November 13th, 2011.
Dr. Mohan Babu has acted in varied roles in his Tollywood film-career of over 35 years, and is especially known for his roles as a villain! After Jyothiprajwalana (lamp lighting) and an enthralling introduction by Mr. Satish Musnuru, Mr. Vishnu made a brief speech with multimedia presentation about the Vidyanikethan Educational Trust founded by his father in 1992 and explained how the colleges are providing free education for 25% of the 10,000 attending students on a need basis.
Introduced by Anjaiah Chowdary Lavu, chief guest Dr. Mohan Babu garu gave an inspiring speech sharing his life experiences starting from an ordinary farming family background to becoming a successful personality in the movie industry. He spoke of his passion for education, the work being done by Sri Vidyanikethan education institutions, and their history, and appealed to the community to support the Sri Vidyaniketan Educational Society. He commended Mr. Bala Indurti and the organizers and, by audience request, entertained with dialogues from his movies. He and his son were honored with mementos, shawls, and bouquets.
Venkat Chennubhotla and Sneha Charurvedula entertained with music and live singing of songs from Dr. Mohan Babu garu movies. The event was attended by over 400 people and funds were raised for the educational institutions.
Bala Indurti thanked all, including organizers, 30 table sponsors, Venkat Chennubhotla for audio, Bytegraph for video, Kiran Mudigonda for photography, and Narasimha Rao for registration.
