Georgia Humanity First Annual Dinner 2017

The Georgia Humanity First Annual Dinner 2017 was held at 5th Avenue Event Hall on Saturday December 9, 2017. This dinner was cosponsored by Humanity First USA and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Georgia Chapter (AMC – GA), located at Baitul Ata Mosque, 1800 Willow Trail Parkway, Norcross, GA 30093.
Humanity First USA is a branch of Humanity First International, a global nonprofit organization registered in 50 countries and working to relieve suffering caused by natural disaster and human conflict, promote peace and understanding, and strengthen people's capacity to help themselves.
Over the past few months, Humanity First USA has responded to serve thousands of victims of disasters: hurricanes in the Houston metro area (Texas), Jacksonville and Naples (Florida), Guadeloupe and other islands (the Caribbean); earthquake (Mexico); droughts in Timbuktu (Mali); Rohingya refugee crisis (Bangladesh); and back to back hurricanes (Puerto Rico). Besides Disaster Relief, other projects include Water for Life, Global Health, Knowledge for Life, Learn a Skill, and Food Security.
Honorable Craig Newton, Mayor-Elect of Norcross, welcomed more than 250 individual donors, platinum and silver sponsors, as well as multiple dignitaries and other elected officials. This dinner raised more than $30,000 through individual donors and organizations.
Guests and dignitaries included Tommy Clack, Vietnam veteran and triple amputee (center); GA State Senator and a candidate for Governor, Michael Williams (left); Craig Newton, mayor-elect of Norcross (second from right); and keynote speaker Dr. Clayton Bell (not pictured here--see photo below).
