Brahmin Samaj presents Homatmak Laghu Rudra
The Brahmin Samaj of Georgia’s newly elected Executive Committee, Kaushik Dave (President), Deep Thaker (Vice President), Ashish Dave (Treasurer) and Sanjay Pandya (Secretary) completed their maiden event “Homatmak Laghu Rudra” at Sardar Patel Bhavan, home of Gujarati Samaj on a sunny “Adi Shakracharya Jayanti” and Mother’s Day, May 8, 2011. Shashtri Shri Ankleshbhai Dave conducted the ceremony in the Krish Yajurved tradition for more than 50 preregistered couples, assisted by Pundit Ravindra Dave, from 10 am to 7 pm with lunch and tea breaks. Lord Shiva’s devotees were accompanied by young adults in modern attire, and children also participated in the rare worship.
The new Executive Committee intends to introduce new participatory and interesting programs and to increase the organization’s visibility and membership. Shri Rameshbhai Pandya, a founding member of Brahmin Samaj, gave a history of this worship. At the end, participants and others feasted on traditional ‘Brahmaniya’ bhojan: ladu, dal bhat and shak from Rajbhog. Patel Brothers, High-Glow Jewelers, Bhindi Jewelers, Meena Jewelers and other businesses generously contributed to make this event a great success.
