An Eventful IACA Year Ends With a Memorable Banquet
IACA Team 2002 signed off with a grand finale Annual Banquet held at Holiday Inn Select Decatur on Jan 25, 2003. Some of the dignitaries and celebrities present Congressman Phil Gingrey, Congresswoman Denise Majette, Chief of Staff Mayor?s office Greg Pridgeon, Honorary Counsel of India in Atlanta Ken Cutshaw and NBA Legend Dominique Wilkins.
The evening commenced with networking and snacks in the pre-function area. The program in banquet hall started with the Executive Vice President of IACA Team 2002 Bob Ghosh introducing the hostess of the evening charming Suchita Vadlamani. Suchita complimented the Team 2002 for their outstanding performance. The national anthems of India and USA followed soon thereafter. Then Spoke Congressman Phil Gingrey as Chief Guest and Congresswoman Denise Majette as Keynote speaker. This was followed by Greg Pridgeon and Ken Cutshaw who all showered their emotions praising the Indo-American community.
IACA honors eminent people each year in felicitation of their outstanding contributions in different fields. 9 people were bestowed honors for 2002. NBA legend Dominique Wilkins presented them and voiced his fond sentiments
Then Amitabh Sharma President IACA 2002 gave his farewell remarks and thanked everyone for support and cooperation all round the year as well as for this Annual Banquet. Paddy Sharma, the new President gave an overview of the proposed programs for 2003 and introduced her team.
This was followed by a great cultural feast of Indian classical dances and color from Nritya Natya Kala Bharti and the 45 minute treat was widely received with joy and applause by everyone. At the end of Kavvali, all in the hall rose to their feet and gave a resounding ovation. Kumud Savla, Sandeep Savla and 18 performers did a great job with music, lights and dances. Certificates were awarded to all participants. Dinner was served and door prizes/lucky draw made. At the end, the mood set in for fast beat music and people danced the evening off until 11.30 pm.
