Aparna’s Dance Academy hosted its annual show at the Alliance Theater in May. Although director Aparna Sharma gave birth to a son only three weeks before, the show went on, with Aparna there and directing.

A new church is meeting on Sundays in the Friendship Christian School campus of Suwanee. Its dynamic worship team is led by Ebenezer Samuel. Wednesday services begin in August.

GlobalArt USA gave its Annual Competition Awards in May at Brindavan Banquet Hall, Alpharetta, GA. Director Sudha Gopalakrishnan set the theme as Healthy Living and recognized winners of other competitions, too.

Modeled after the famous TV quiz show of Pakistan and Northern India, a Neelam Ghar show was in Atlanta in May, bringing a sense of community between desis, while indulging them with entertainment and prizes.

On April 21st, Vibha’s flagship event, the FutureTech Vibha Cricket Cup 2012, was held at East Roswell Park, metro Atlanta. The exciting tournament had a number of special aspects and was a successful fundraiser for charity.

“Building a Better Community, One Step at a Time,” the BAPS Charities annual walkathon was held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Lilburn, GA. Over 650 members of the community participated this year.

The Senior Citizen Program (SCP) celebrated its 15th anniversary. SCP programs help seniors in numerous ways, and as Guest speaker Greg Pridgeon noted, “You all, including our mentors, have interacted with each other and changed so many lives.”
