Diabetes Prevention Program OPEN HOUSE
FREE informational Open House to learn more about the Diabetes Prevention Program at the MIDHA MEDICAL CLINIC. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the Certified Lifestyle Coach leading the group as well as other participants. 84 Million people have "prediabetes" and are at high risk of developing Type2 Diabetes however, only 10 percent people are aware of this.
The Diabetes Prevention Program is a 12 month lifestyle change program offered in a supportive, small group setting. Over the course of the year, participants develop the tools necessary for establishing healthier eating habits and increasing physical activity in order to reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes. This is a behavior modification program that requires a personal commitment.
Many participants (70 percent) have reversed their prediabetes at our clinic.
Weekly classes (16 weeks) every Monday evening (6 to 7pm) start on Feb. 3 to May 25, 2020.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides recognition and validation of high-quality preventive behavioral health interventions intended for prediabetic Americans via the a Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP). Our clinic, in Decatur Georgia, achieved this CDC Preliminary Recognition status under the recently released 2019 DPRP standards and is the only organization in Dekalb Co. to achive this recognition! We are currently enrolling new participants in this life saving program.
